The Brightline Orlando Airport Train is One Step CLOSER to Opening

It takes planes, trains, and automobiles to get to Orlando —   now if only scientists could work out teleportation!

Recently, the Orlando International Airport has been sharing lots of news. We’ve seen an airline announce its return to MCO, and a brand new terminal has also opened up! Even a new Star Wars character made a rare appearance at the airport in honor of a special day. Now, we’ve got an update on the status of the Orlando Airport train, which is set to open soon!

The Orlando Airport train, officially known as the Brightline train, will run from Miami to Orlando (or Orlando to Miami, depending on where you start).

We’ve been following all the latest Brightline train updates for a while — from a first look at the Orlando Airport station to reports about a potential station “near” Disney World and news about the train’s path through Orlando; we’ve covered it all.

Currently, Brightline has a train line in Florida with stations in Aventura, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach, and soon, there will be another stop at Orlando International Airport. Service to Orlando is expected to start in the summer of 2023. Thanks to a NEW clue, it looks like the train is one step closer to opening!

According to a report from local Orlando news outlet WESH 2, “Brightline is looking to fill over 170 job positions for the company’s Orlando station within Orlando International Airport and Basecamp.”

Brightline plans to attend a Job Fair in mid-May to promote its newly available positions, including things like train attendants and more. This news means we’re getting closer to the grand opening of the Orlando Airport train! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

  1. I plan on using this train to Miami for my cruises from Miami. It will be so convenient vs driving from Orlando.
