A unique new activity will be available in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion soon!

One of the highlights of EPCOT’s World Showcase is the ability to experience the cultures of different countries. From tasting new food and drinks to interacting with cultural representatives, there are tons of interesting ways to learn something new while enjoying your day in the park!

In the Japan Pavilion of the World Showcase, one of the biggest draws is the huge Mitsukoshi Department Store. The store carries a wide assortment of Japanese products and pop culture souvenirs that guests won’t find anywhere else around Disney World — and, in many cases, not even anywhere else in the US!

The store even offers the hands-on Akoya Pearls experience that allows guests to choose an oyster and keep the pearls that are inside it.

And soon, another interactive experience will be available at the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion. On May 5th, Cast Members at the store will be celebrating Children’s Day by teaching guests how to make Kabuto, the iconic Japanese samurai helmet, using the art of origami.

Children’s Day, or “Kodomo no Hi,” is an important national holiday in Japan that celebrates the happiness and well-being of children. The activity will teach guests more about the holiday and allow them to experience a unique part of Japanese culture.
