Goodman’s agent (Jackie Gill) said that Goodman “passed away peacefully” on Saturday night. Goodman had been diagnosed with bone cancer.

For those who may not be familiar with him, Goodman was a former professional ballroom dancer and “British champion.” He served as the head judge on Strictly Come Dancing for 12 years since it launched on the BBC (that show pairs celebrities with professional dance partners).

Goodman also served as head judge on the US version of the show —Dancing with the Stars — for 15 years. He retired in November. You can see the video below from his retirement.

Many have shared their condolences following Goodman’s loss, including Camilla (the queen consort and wife of King Charles III who is a fan of Strictly Come Dancing), and the spokesperson for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

BBC director-general Tim Davie shared, Goodman was “a wonderful, warm entertainer who was adored by millions…He will be hugely missed by the public and his many friends and family.”

Our thoughts go out to all those mourning Goodman’s loss at this moment, especially his close family and friends.
