Haunted Mansion fans, there’s been a lot of exciting news you’ve been hit with recently, are you breathing okay?
We recently got a first look at the new Haunted Mansion film coming soon, and there have been some new Haunted Mansion photo filters to celebrate being Halfway to Halloween. But there’s more exciting news in case you forgot — an iconic Haunted Mansion character is coming to Disney World SOON!
Disney just shared a TikTok video of the story behind the Hatbox Ghost…so we had to remind you about a big Haunted Mansion update!

The video also shares a bit of the history behind the Hatbox Ghost, and how he wasn’t introduced to Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion until 2015 when the technology was ready. Now, he will finally be making his way to the Disney World attraction too!
At the D23 Expo in 2022, Disney announced that the Hatbox Ghost would be coming to the east coast, but there has been no timeline other than “2023”. We’ll be sure to let you know when the ghost will begin haunting Disney World.
