Over the past month or so, Disney World has been BUSY, thanks to Spring Break crowds.

However, over the past week, we’ve seen ride wait times start to go down, and it seems that there aren’t QUITE as many people in the parks. We’ve also seen another indication that Spring Break is almost over in Disney World — the price of Genie+ has started to go down.
So how does this tell us that there are fewer people in the parks? Well, Genie+ is priced based on demand. If the parks are busy, more people are likely to buy Genie+ to avoid the multi-hour standby lines for rides to access the shorter Lightning Lanes. This is why we’ve seen Genie+ jump in price up to $35 per person during the busy Spring Break travel season.

However, we saw the price recently drop back down to $25 per person. That’s a whole $10 less than its highest price. Today, though, the price has dropped again. On April 16th, Genie+ costs just $20 per person.

What does this mean? It means that Disney World expects less demand for the service, which means the company expects fewer people in the parks. Keep in mind that this is also a runDisney marathon weekend, but this is still the lowest price we’ve seen for Genie+ since early March.

So if you’re headed to Disney World and worried about Spring Break crowds, we think we’ve probably seen the worst of them already. Of course, summer break will be here before you know it, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for how that will affect crowds in the parks. But right now, it’s a good time to visit the resort, so if you were thinking about a last-minute trip (and, really, who isn’t?), now could be a good time to book it!
We’ll continue to keep an eye on wait times and Genie+ prices in Disney World and let you know when things change, so be sure to check back with AllEars often!

Went for spring break, and only purchased Genie plus for one day at MK. Rope drop the parks and you can get on almost everything you want with little to no wait time.
