Access to this club is super exclusive and super expensive, so let’s learn a little more about it!

Club 33 is an exclusive membership that is only available to select Disney guests. Disney tends to keep the details about the membership super secretive, but today we’re gonna look a little at the mysterious origin of its name!

The origin behind Club 33 was that Walt Disney wanted a spot to be able to host and entertain guests in the magic of Disneyland, but away from the crowds. A place with some privacy, comfort, and luxury since some of his guest might be high-level executives, celebrities, and politicians.

The entrance of the club was originally located next to the Blue Bayou Restaurant at “33 Royal Street” with the entrance recognizable by an ornate address plate with the number 33 engraved on it. Following a major remodeling in 2014, the entrance was relocated to the Court of Angels with the La Mascarade d’Orleans holiday decoration shop converted into a reception foyer.

Where Did Club 33 Get Its Name?

According to D23, “The 33 refers solely to the street address, on Royal St.”

There have been rumors and speculation that the number 33 came from the number of the initial patrons of the club, but Disney has never substantiated that claim.
