Disney World has some iconic rides that fans love and adore.

From Haunted Mansion to Jungle Cruise, some Disney rides just hit different. But, not all of Disney’s choices are popular, and some guests are left wanting more when it comes to certain attractions. Whether they are outdated and just need a refresh or they’re better served with a complete overhaul, our readers had some THOUGHTS about what Disney rides they have issues with. So, we’re looking at the 10 rides fans want Disney to change.
1. Tomorrowland Speedway — Magic Kingdom
In this opening-day attraction, guests take a spin in a gas-powered race car as they make their way around Tomorrowland Speedway. While this ride has some nostalgia for some, many think this attraction is outdated — and that these gas-powered vehicles are an affront to the senses.

Frankly, we can’t argue with them — the gas smell can be overwhelming. Maybe it’s time to convert to electric? Another reader said that they wish Disney would update the seats to be more comfortable. To be honest, we’d appreciate that too.
2. Grand Fiesta Tour — EPCOT
This relaxing, dark boat ride passes through illuminated scenes of Mexico and follows the story of the Three Caballeros: Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito. Many think this is a fun way to escape the Florida heat and find a bit of relaxation. So why do some want this attraction to change?

Well, the animatronics have been known to break down frequently (does anyone remember when Donald was replaced with a plant?). Rides like these do have a lot of malfunctions, so it would be helpful if they were updated to help with this.

But, that’s not the only thing guests would like to change with this ride. Some fans would love to see a new Coco-themed ride, and the Mexico Pavilion is the perfect place to have it. So, some think Grand Fiesta should make way for the new.
3. Journey into Imagination…with Figment — EPCOT
In this ride featuring the beloved purple dragon, Figment, guests embark on a journey through the senses on a tour of the Imagination Institute. So what would guests like to change? Well, the animatronics on this ride break down occasionally as well, so some think it needs an update.

But, mostly, people miss the old version of the ride! Currently, Figment is accompanied by Dr. Nigel Channing (Eric Idle), who helps host the tour. But, originally you would follow along with Dreamfinder and Figment.

There was even a meet and greet near the attraction! Many fans want the original version of this ride restored.
4. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith — Disney’s Hollywood Studios
This thrilling coaster is the only ride in Disney World that goes upside down, and it is a favorite for many fans. So what would some like to see changed?

Well, currently this ride featured Aerosmith, and many would like to see a newer, more relevant band. We’ve asked our readers specifically who they would like to see in the past, and they had tons of great ideas — some new and some old. But by far the most interesting suggestion was to make the ride Powerline-themed!

While this isn’t a real band (he’s a popular singer in the 1995 film A Goofy Movie), it certainly would make a fun, Disney-centered attraction. And with the new Powerline Max meet-and-greets in Hollywood Studios, who knows what could happen?

This ride is currently in the middle of a lengthy refurbishment, so you never know!
5. “it’s a small world” — Magic Kingdom
This opening day attraction is controversial — some people HAVE to ride it (it is a classic after all), and some can’t imagine sitting through the song. But, for those that do want to ride it, they would prefer the boats were easier to get in and out of.

This ride does have a few boats with wheelchair access — and they even added a doll in a wheelchair to the ride recently. However, some find that the standard boats are hard to climb in and out of for those with mobility issues or are above a certain height and weight. So, they’d like these vehicles to change to accommodate a wider range of people.
6. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — Disney’s Hollywood Studios
This 25-minute experience is a fully immersive ride that consistently has one of the highest wait times in Disney World. It’s one of the most popular rides in Disney World — so what gives?

Well, when Galaxy’s Edge opened in Hollywood Studios in 2019, people went crazy! But, there are some Star Wars fans who would have preferred if the ride was based on the Original Trilogy.

With the addition of this new Star Wars section of the park, the rides and experiences rely heavily on the newer intellectual property — and some fans would prefer if there were more classic references.
7. Muppet*Vision 3D Grand Avenue — Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Speaking of Star Wars, some fans think that MuppetVision 3D doesn’t quite fit in the park anymore, and wish Galaxy’s Edge extended farther into the park.

8. Frozen Ever After — EPCOT
Frozen took the world by storm, so it’s only natural that Disney would want to incorporate a movie-themed ride into the parks. Families flock to Frozen Ever After, and this ride often has one of the highest wait times in EPCOT. But, why do people have an issue with it?

Well, Frozen Ever After took the place of the old ride Maelstrom — a water ride that many were sad to see go. Maelstrom was a ride that immersed guests in the “past, present, and mythological world of Norway,” along a 10th-century warrior’s longship.

This authentic portrayal of the Scandinavian country was a classic, and some fans wish that Disney would change it back.
9. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover — Magic Kingdom
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is one of our favorite rides here at AllEars, and it’s a pretty popular ride if you’re looking to sit back and relax in Magic Kingdom.

So what do people want to change about this attraction? Well, some people think it would be cool to have a Meet the Robinsons overlay. This futuristic film didn’t do too hot at the box office, and many fans might not even recognize this is a Disney film. But, some think it deserves a second chance — and the theming of it would fit right in!
10. Mission: Space — EPCOT
It probably doesn’t come as a huge shock that many of our readers thought Mission: Space could do with some changes — and they had some radical ideas about what to bring back.

You might remember that before Mission: Space existed, we had Horizons. The attraction was designed to be a look back at “past visions of the future” while the second half focused on the future of America in the new millennium. Fans still talk about this ride 20 years after its original closure, and it remains a beloved favorite from the past.

So beloved, in fact, that our readers are willing to get rid of Mission: Space in order to bring Horizons back!

Which ride would you change? Let us know in the comments!
I think Rise of The Resistance is perfect the way it is. If you want to experience the Original Trilogy, there is an OT Star Tours experience. I rode it twice. First time, we had to escape from the First Order. Second time, Vader. And there was even a Princess Leia “Help me Star Tours, you’re my only hope” moment.
I love Mission:Space but I only do the green non-spinning side, which means I’ll never get to see the video journey the orange side takes! C’mon, guys, give both sides the same video.
I think it depends on the people who believe in Disney nostalgia. Small World is a great ride for youngsters and I’ll admit to enjoying it. Lot’s of memories on that ride and I’m looking forward to riding it with my 4 year old granddaughter in January. Entering the boat could be a bit easier. Never cared for Frozen, but once again my granddaughter will love it so I will too. Grand Fiesta, change it PLEASE! Journey, maybe if they kept the theme of the ride including Figment. Muppet Vision is always funny for us. People Mover, no change needed. It is what it is. As Judy stated, there’s no need to add rides that should have a vomit bag next to you. Personally, I like the rides that offer something to see and give me a wow. I always enjoyed Disney’s audio-animatronics. It’s what made the Disney parks famous. Unfortunately, Disney is doing more projections nowadays.
Not everyone wants these rides to change…
Here is my main reason for changing Frozen Ever After- EVERY TIME I RIDE MY BUTT IS SOAKING WET! No one wants this. Especially on a cool night. Please dry this ride out. And, demolish Mission Space; anything better than that. Dear Disney, 99% of guests just want a pleasant attraction that doesn’t end with a puke bucket. No spinning, whirling or motion trickery. Seven dwarfs Mine Train is straightforward, even Rock and Roller and Space Mountain. There are plenty of Amusement parks that cater to wild spinning and motion sickness. We don’t need it or want it. Also, please don’t make a park themed evil villains. No one wants that either
Space Mountain desperately needs revamping. It is one of my faves because of nostalgia, but with Tron now there and similar themes, it is time for an upgrade. If we look to Tokyo Disney they are updating the coaster. I wish they would do the same at WDW. There’s no music on the ride anymore and it’s incredibly rough, feels like whiplash at times.
How are they suppose to change the Small World boats to make them more accommodating? They are already bench type seats so any size person can fit into them. There is a decent amount of leg room (more than the average back seat in a car). My only suggestion would be what they have done at Disneyland with both SW and Pirates where the boats in the load area go up a bit via a belt system in the water, which makes the boats a bit easier to step into.
