Why You’ll Want To Buy Genie+ at the Crack of Dawn Tomorrow

Welcome to your vacation!  It’s almost the weekend, and you can’t wait for a leisurely break.

Disney World

You’ve got your plans set, and your must-dos marked down, and you’ve binged all of the AllEars videos to enjoy this time in Disney World.

No matter how many of our videos you’ve watched (because they are SO fun and easy to binge), you need to bring your A-game this weekend. Because this is Disney World, and it is a HOLIDAY weekend.

So, set those alarms and work on those thumb exercises, because you’ll want to be up early and on your My Disney Experience app at the stroke of 7AM (for resort guests) and park open for those staying off Disney property to grab those coveted Lightning Lanes.

But wait, you’ll want to set 2 (!!) alarms, one to grab your first Lightning Lane, but you’ll also want to set an alarm for midnight to actually purchase Genie+ for the day!

Why so early? Because, this past President’s Day, we saw Genie+ sell out for the first time ever! And when you also have to factor in Spring Break crowds, the Flower and Garden Festival in full swing at EPCOT, and the chance to see some of our favorite characters all dressed up for Easter, you can bet this is gonna be another popular weekend!

It’s spring time at Disney!

For President’s Day, we saw that Genie+ was priced at $29 in Disney World that weekend, matching the highest price in Florida. Since Genie+ uses flexible pricing based on expected demand, that was a pretty good indication that Disney expected a lot of people in the parks. And given that Easter happens in a bit more popular of a travel time, we anticipate that history will repeat itself.

Although we recommend grabbing Genie+ at midnight if you can, you can buy it at any time that day before it possibly sells out. On President’s Day weekend, the service sold out around 1PM EST, but the sooner you buy Genie+ for the day, the better!

So, don’t miss out or sleep in. If you plan to use Genie+ to grab Lightning Lanes and bypass some of those longer lines at Disney World attractions, then you’ll want to be up at midnight to buy it and on your My Disney Experience app at your marked hour, to start booking those popular Lightning Lanes.

Hoppy Easter!

We’ll continue to report back on our experience during a crowded holiday weekend in Disney World, so keep an eye on AllEars for the latest updates.
