Although winter isn’t quite over yet for most of the United States, if you’re heading to Disney World soon you may want to leave your coats behind.

Hello, summer? It’s winter, we have your weather.

We have seen some record highs in Orlando this year already, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to stop any time soon!

Earlier this month temperatures were predicted to go as high as the mid to upper 80s. Now, meteorologists are predicting some more record highs with temperatures expected to reach just under 90 degrees on February 24th. Compare that to the average high of 76 degrees and you can just how HOT things are getting this year.

If you’ll be visiting the parks this time of year, where there is a potential for some higher temperatures, it’s good to know what to expect because this will guide you when packing. And we have plenty of tips to share!

Magic Kingdom Crowds

Light layers will be your best friend this time of year. It may get VERY hot during the day (especially when you’re staying active with a ton of walking) but the evenings could still get a bit cooler. You may want to keep a light jacket or cardigan in your park bag to throw on when the temperatures dip or while indoors.

While you can find many of these items in the parks, they are going to be substantially more expensive than if you brought them from home. This can be helpful in a pinch but we recommend either packing your own or making a quick stop at a local grocery store for necessities!

They have all kinds of essentials in resort shops.
