If you’re in Disney World today, be warned.

It is President’s Day, which has brought some crowds to the parks. Plus, we’ve seen Genie+ hit a record-high price (again) and the standard Genie+ service has completely SOLD OUT for the day. But on top of all of that, some popular rides have suddenly closed!
As of the time of the writing of this post, several popular Disney World rides are listed as “temporarily closed” on the My Disney Experience App. As of around 4:17PM ET that included the Haunted Mansion, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Space Mountain.
So it seems the closures, for now, are spread through Magic Kingdom (mainly) and Hollywood Studios.

If you are in the parks and a ride suddenly shuts down without warning, here are some tips:
- Check the My Disney Experience app constantly for updates (if a wait time is displayed, you’ll know the ride has likely reopened!)
- Ask Cast Members outside of the attraction if they know what has happened and if they have a better idea about when the ride might reopen
- Come up with a plan “B” in case one of your must-do rides unexpectedly closes
- Mentally prepare little ones for potential closures by discussing the possibility at home
- Use that closure time to knock other things off of your list, take a break, grab a snack, or otherwise utilize your time in the park!

Being a fan of this page for many years, I’ve never seen so many issues in the parks. I don’t understand what is happening to Disney as a whole. It seems like we’re watching the fall of an empire. I’m just happy i sold my stock off a couple of years ago. Watching to see if Disney will be broken up and sold off in chunks.
