PHOTOS: The NEW Experience Disney History Fans Can’t Miss

It’s time to kick off the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort!

The 100th anniversary celebration is here!

In case you didn’t know, The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year. Disneyland is the epicenter of the excitement, with new entertainment, merchandise, and even the opening of a new ride just in time for the occasion. But now, we’re checking out another 100th Anniversary addition — and it’s right on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park!

You can now check out a NEW exhibit inside The Disney Gallery at Disneyland Park. The new offering is dubbed The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder, and it’s a tribute to Walt Disney’s dream for Disneyland.

We stepped inside to see what’s on display here, and there are all kinds of fun artifacts for Disney history buffs! There’s animator artwork, concept art from Disney Imagineers, and plenty of iconic props.

As you tour through the gallery, there are lots of collages paying tribute to classic Disneyland attractions that were inspired by Disney films, like the Storybook Land Canal Boats…

…Pinocchio’s Daring Journey…

…and Indiana Jones Adventure.

There were also some props to explore, like this model of Dumbo from the recent Tim Burton film remake…

…the witch from Snow White’s Scary Adventure…

…and some inspiring pieces of animation history (like this model of the multi-plane camera). The multi-plane camera helped create some of the beautiful scenes in animated classics.

We also got a look at an animator’s desk…

…and an animation storyboard.

It really makes you appreciate Disney’s many films that inspired park rides, and the park rides that eventually went on to inspire Disney films too!
