Southwest Airlines Is Being Sued for the HUGE Cancelations & Delays

It’ll be a long time before we forget the big Southwest holiday debacle of 2022.

Southwest Airlines

To catch you up to speed, on December 26th, Southwest canceled over 60% of their flights across the board, with major cancelations continuing through the end of the month. Things finally stabilized on December 30th, but the company has suffered majorly due to this failure. Things may get worse for Southwest, however, because Southwest shareholders are now suing the company.

Southwest has apologized for their cancelations and claimed that their scheduling system played a part in the event. According to Business Insider, a group of Southwest shareholders are suing the company, alleging “that the airline hid problems that led to its major meltdown in December.”

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the airline itself and its CEO, CFO, and executive chairman in a federal court in Houston, Texas. Shareholders suffered “significant losses and damages” due to the issues since the stock value plummeted during the meltdown.
