Universal’s Newest Ride Broke Down the MOST This Week

When you’re at a theme park, it may seem like you’re in a different world. Unfortunately, though, real world things still happen!

That’s why even though you might plan the perfect itinerary for a day at Universal Orlando or you are trying to complete everything in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a wrench will be thrown in those plans. Rides close all of the time in theme parks, but this past week, the newest ride at Universal broke down the most.

VelociCoaster is the newest coaster over at Universal Islands of Adventure, but it looks like it could use some TLC. The ride broke down a total of 14 times over the past 7 days — this was the most any ride closed all week in both Universal Orlando parks!

VelociCoaster is based on the Jurassic World movies and you get to have a high-speed race through the raptor paddock. It’s a pretty intense coaster but it has become a very popular ride since opening in 2021!

So what should you do if you’re visiting the parks and a must-do ride goes down? A tool we highly recommend using is the Universal app! In the app, you can see wait times and even set alerts for when rides reopen or when the wait time gets down to a certain time. Setting these alerts will make you the first to know when a ride is back up.
