Select Park Passes SOLD OUT for Opening Day of TRON Coaster in Disney World

We’d like to say that we’re shocked about this news, but we honestly aren’t surprised.

Almost finished!

TRON Lightcycle / Run has been highly-anticipated since it was announced, so when Disney gave us an official opening date yesterday we knew it was a matter of time before Park Passes would get booked up!

While Park Pass Reservations are still open for the general public, we can’t say the same for Annual Passholders. Magic Kingdom Park Passes are now fully booked for Annual Passholders on April 4th, the date TRON Lightcycle / Run is scheduled to open.

Both Incredi Pass and Sorcerer Pass are showing no Magic Kingdom Park Passes open for April 4th, while every other date has completely open availability. Pirate and Pixie Dust passes are blocked out on that date.

That means if you’re an Annual Passholder and were hoping to get on TRON on its opening day you might be out of luck! Now, Disney did announce they will be getting rid of Park Reservations for Passholders who want to enter the parks after 2PM, and while we don’t have an official start date for that it’s something to keep in mind. And although Disney has not released details, there will be Passholder previews for TRON.

With this date going so quickly for Passholders we suggest if you are planning a trip to the parks around this time and want to get in to Magic Kingdom on April 4th to book your Park Pass Reservation ASAP! 1. It is almost a guarantee that TRON will be a ride that will require a boarding group or Individual Lightning Lane to ride, so even getting in on opening day is no guarantee that they will be able to ride!

  2. I don’t understand why Annual Passholders would even WANT to compete with the general public on opening day of the ride when they’re provided with the benefit of a preview period that’s sure to be less crowded. I guess some see excitement where others see “madhouse.” Meanwhile, I’ve been grumbling like Donald Duck since learning that Tron opens three days after we leave. The last day of our trip is April 1st – April Fools Day, appropriately enough.
