Even MORE Flight Delays Will Affect Florida Today

Flying can be stressful, and we’ve seen just how stressful it can be recently when bad weather canceled thousands of flights, and one airline continued to struggle for days after that.

Now, even MORE bad weather is on the way — as a storm moves into the state of Florida. That storm will also result in flight delays today.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a delay program for flights into and out of Florida due to weather.

If you are flying into or out of Florida today, the best thing you can do is to check your flight status on the airline’s website or app. Also, make sure you have some kind of notifications and alerts set on your phone so you’ll get immediate updates on any changes to your flight.

You might also need to contact your airline to make alternative arrangements. If you do end up with a delayed or canceled flight, it’s good to know what compensation the airline owes you. This could be in the form of food vouchers, hotel arrangements, and other compensation.

It’s also good to note that if your flight has a big change or gets canceled, the airline is required to provide you with an immediate refund, regardless of why that flight was affected. However, this doesn’t affect passengers who choose to rebook another flight (which is probably your better option to get you to your destination), according to the US Department of Transportation.
