There are so many aspects to planning a Disney World vacation.

You’ve got to pick the dates, book a hotel, buy tickets, make Park Pass Reservations, decide if you want Genie+, and more. But there some other things you need to plan for when visiting Disney World including ride closures! They happen all of the time and there’s a chance one of your must-do rides will be closed when you visit.
We’re taking you through the rides with the most closures in each Disney World park in December 2022 so that you can prepare for your next visit. Let’s see what rides you need to watch out for!
Magic Kingdom
Starting in Magic Kingdom, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover broke down the most in December! This beloved attraction is notorious for breaking down and being evacuated so it’s not a shock that it closed 34 times over 16 days in December.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was in second place for most closures — the Fantasyland attraction closed 28 times over 17 days in December! You may not have suspected this one as a ride that closes constantly, so keep this one on your radar next time you’re in Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT
EPCOT is not home to many thrill rides, but the thrill rides it does have are very popular. If you are one of the many guests that loves Test Track, it broke down the most in December! Over 15 days in the past month the ride closed 26 different times.

Behind Test Track was Living With the Land! This relaxing boat ride through the Land pavilion closed a total of 18 times across 12 days.

Frozen Ever After is another EPCOT ride that sees long wait times every day and it broke down quite a few times in December. The Norway attraction broke down 17 times over 14 days in the past month.

Hollywood Studios
We’ve already determined that Rise of the Resistance is the ride that broke down the most in all of 2022, so it’s no surprise that is was also the ride that broke down the most in December at Hollywood Studios! The super popular Star Wars-themed attraction closed 45 times total across 24 days.

In second place, we have Tower of Terror which closed 36 times over 21 days in December. The ride has been undergoing maintenance while remaining open which could be the reason it has so many closures.

Animal Kingdom
This next one may surprise you…but TriceraTop Spin was the ride that broke down the most in Animal Kingdom in December! The spinning ride closed 25 times in 19 days through the past month.

Behind the dino-themed ride is Expedition Everest which closed 15 times over 12 days in December. The coaster closed for a long refurbishment at the beginning of 2022, but that doesn’t seem to have prevented technical difficulties.

If a must-do ride is closed while you are visiting Disney World, keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app. Wait times are constantly being updated in the app so you’ll be able to see if the ride reopens! You can also speak to Cast Members and ask when the ride will reopen, but they may not always know the answer.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on closures in Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars for more updates! In the meantime, check out our video to see how many Lightning Lanes we could get in one day.
