Go Behind the Scenes of Disney’s NEW 100th Anniversary Nighttime Spectacular

Can you believe The Walt Disney Company turns 100 years old in 2023?

We can’t wait to celebrate all year long and have already spotted some 100th anniversary merchandise in the parks and online. Disney had previously shared that Sleeping Beauty Castle would get a makeover for the occasion, and we learned two nighttime shows would be coming to Disneyland too. We’ve got an inside look at one of the new shows, so let’s check it out!

Wondrous Journeys will debut at Disney California Adventure on January 27th, 2023, and we just learned some exciting new details about the fireworks show!

The new spectacular will celebrate 100 years of Walt Disney movies new and old including Hercules, Peter Pan, The Princess and the Frog, Frozen, Moana, Big Hero 6, Treasure Planet, and more. And, the concept art shows Sleeping Beauty Castle looking an awful lot like the Casita from Encanto!

Disney has added “state-of-the-art” projection effects to the show, with special animation and lighting — not to mention those fireworks on select nights. Oh, and did we mention Baymax will fly above the castle at one point?
