Maybe your love of Barbie started when you saw that surprising Barbie show in EPCOT (yes, it existed), or you’re a full-on Barbie collector (with some of the unique Marvel dolls on your shelves). Or maybe you’re just ready to see Ryan Gosling as Ken and spot Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) in a Barbie film?! In short, there are MANY reasons to be excited about the upcoming Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie, and now the trailer for the film has arrived!

The FIRST trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie the Movie has arrived! The movie will star Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. Plus you can catch Simu Liu DANCING in the trailer. Check it out below!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this marks the first time Barbie has come to life in a live-action movie. The cast includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell.

Robbie previously indicated that the film is meant to subvert expectations. She explained, “Something like Barbie where the IP, the name itself, people immediately have an idea of, ‘Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is,’ but our goal is to be like, ‘Whatever you’re thinking, we’re going to give you something totally different — the thing you didn’t know you wanted’ … can we truly honor the IP and the fan base and also surprise people? Because if we can do all that and provoke a thoughtful conversation, then we’re really firing on all cylinders.”

Barbie will hit theaters on July 21st, 2023!

Now, we know that Disney fans everywhere will be keeping the Toy Story versions of Barbie and Ken close to their hearts, but it’ll be interesting to see where this movie takes the characters
