The holidays are an exciting time at Disney World!

You can check out some incredible holiday displays at the hotels, attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and eat your way around the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. But, there are some little-known holiday happenings around Disney World and we’re gonna spill the secrets to you!
Eat a Gingerbread Shingle
One of the best things to do during the holiday season is visit the impressive gingerbread displays around the resorts! But did you know that you can grab some treats while you admire the gingerbread displays?

At the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (and other locations with a gingerbread display), you can purchase a gingerbread shingle exactly like the ones you’ll spot on the house!

There are other treats available as well like rice krispies treats and other cookies, but how cool is it to eat a cookie just like the hundreds of shingles on the gingerbread house?!

The Tiny Village That Celebrates the Holidays
Use your eagle eyes for this one — head to the Germany pavilion where you’ll see a small village. If you look close enough, you’ll notice that they put decorations up to celebrate the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays!

The village changes its decor for each EPCOT festival that comes through, but during the holidays you’ll find some of the world’s smallest holiday decorations!

Santa Is ALL Over
You may think you can only meet Santa in Magic Kingdom or during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but you can actually see him all over Disney World!

Santa will be in all 4 Disney World parks and more — a meet and greet in Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs, on a flotilla in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, in a holiday motorcade in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and around World Showcase with storytellers in EPCOT.

No matter what park you’re in, you can get some holiday cheer from Santa!

Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar
Disney releases exclusive holiday treats every year, but did you know there’s a special holiday bar with a secret menu? You’ll want to head to Disney Springs for this next secret!

Jock Linsey’s Hangar Bar inspired by Indiana Jones gets a holiday makeover each year and becomes Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar! But that’s not all — there are also special menu items to celebrate the holidays.

This is a fun spot to grab a drink and a snack while getting into the holiday spirit!

Don’t Skip the Details
Just like looking for hidden Mickeys in Disney World, you should spend some time looking at the details in the holiday decor! Even on wreaths in Magic Kingdom, looks closely to see things like pineapples (yes, really!).

Each resort gets holiday decor as well and it is themed to that hotel specifically. For example, look at the ornaments in the garland at Disney’s Caribbean Beach from 2020. There are Caribbean flowers, anchors, and more — and this is just one piece of garland in all of Disney World!

There are details all over the place, so be sure to admire them as you vacation at Disney World!
