COVID-19 shut down every single Disney theme park in 2020 and some parks have continued to close to keep guests and Cast Members safe. Shanghai Disney closed in March this year and eventually reopened in June. But now, it looks like Shanghai Disney is shutting its doors again.

On October 29th, Shanghai Disney announced that they were reducing staff, capacity, and offerings in the park. However, as of October 31st, Shanghai Disney is closed.

There is a pop-up message at the top of the front page of the website saying, “In order to follow the requirement of prevention and control, Shanghai Disney Resort, including Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown, and Wishing Star Park will be closed starting Monday, October 31, 2022, with immediate effect.”

For anyone with a ticket for the 31st or anytime during the closure, Disney will provide exchanges and refunds. You may also choose to go to the park any other day within the next six months from the park’s reopening day.
