Space Mountain Unexpectedly CLOSED in Disney World

You spend months and months planning a Disney World vacation, but that doesn’t mean everything is going to go to plan!

You could plan out every minute of your day, the order you will ride the attractions, and more, but due to the nature of Disney World, the plan will probably change. Ride closures happen ALL of the time in Disney World which can impact your day in many ways — and today is one of those days where a popular ride temporarily closes.

We were walking around Magic Kingdom when we saw a pop-up on our phones — Space Mountain is temporarily closed.

We headed over to the ride to investigate where we saw themed cornhole to entertain guests while the ride was closed.

There’s even one with the iconic purple wall in Tomorrowland!

Cast Members did not know when Space Mountain would reopen, but we’ll keep an eye on it and let you know.

We then rode the PeopleMover where we saw that Space Mountain had the lights on!
