Going to Disney World can require some planning.

Cinderella Castle in Disney World

With all of Disney’s recent changes like price increases, D23 announcements, and constant construction, there are only a few things that stay the same. One of those things is what we make sure to bring with us when we head to the parks.

I can’t believe I get to go to Disney World every day! It’s such a privilege but not every day is perfect (which makes sense — Walt Disney World is the Most Magical Place On Earth, after all, not the Most Perfect). That being said, thanks to some tough days in Disney World, I now have what I believe is the perfect park bag.

After some rainy days, unexpected sickness, and dying phones, I’ve learned my lesson more times than I would care to admit. Now, I want to share with you what I absolutely need before I head into the parks. First, and the most important for me, is a portable battery.

Portable Battery

A portable battery is of the utmost importance if you’re using My Disney Experience for Genie+, dining reservations, PhotoPass, or your park tickets and hotel reservations.

This Solar Portable Charger is the one I use personally and it has been amazing in the parks! I’m on my phone a lot in Walt Disney World and this portable charger can charge two devices at once. It also recharges in the sun and we know Florida has no shortage of that. You can grab this charger which is currently on sale for $18.19.

Charging Cord

To go along with your sturdy portable charger, you’ll need a sturdy charging cord too. I have broken more charging cords than I care to admit in Disney World so that’s why I finally purchased the Anker Powerline II Lightning Cable.

While this charger is $16.99 for the 6 foot cord, it’s been an awesome inventsment for me. This cord has let me leave my portable charger in my bag while I’m still able to have my phone out and charging all while not being worried if the cord is going to short out.

Umbrellas

Another thing I have learned the hard way when spending time in Disney World is that it will rain every day, no question. That’s why an umbrella is a must for me.

This Travel Mini Umbrella is perfect for a park bag for a few reasons. It doesn’t take up much space (I can even fit it in my fanny pack) and the case lets me put it back in my bag when the rain is over without getting everything else wet.

Rainy day in Disney World

Rainy days in Disney World happen every day so this umbrella is one thing I won’t leave the house without. You can grab your own for $15.95.

Portable Fan

Next in my bag is another weather related item! Can you tell I’m very aware of Orlando weather? After the rain is over and the sun comes back out, it can get hot. Thats why this Portable Neck Fan is always in my park bag.

This neck fan will keep you cool and since it’s hands free, you can keep checking My Disney Experience for the best lightning lane times! (Isn’t it nice to multi-task?) You can grab this neck fan for $25.99.

Sunscreen

Next on my list of needs is sun screen. In my opinion, any sunscreen will work but you absolutely need some form of sun screen! While you can buy sunscreen at your Walt Disney World resort, it will definitely be more expensive than buying before your trip.

I personally use this Coppertone Sport Sunscreen, which you can grab in a pack of two for $14.26. This has saved my skin more times than I can count!

Water Bottle

Another item I always, always have with me is my water bottle. This Hydro Flask Waterbottle has been the best waterbottle I’ve ever used in the parks and it keeps my water cold for hours.

This waterbottle, which you can grab for $27.73, will make sure you can really utilize the free water stations throughout Disney World.

  1. One other comment: We’ve started using the “lipstick” chargers that you attach to the bottom of your phone. They don’t take up too much extra room, and the phone stays charged all through a day at Disney!!

  2. Good points here! Thank you Emma!! We will keep these in mind for our trip Thanksgiving week. Maybe we’ll see you there! My wife would love to meet some of her fave AllEars team!
