7 Long-Term Closures Continue Next Week in Disney World

The Disney World parks change all the time, even day to day. We spot new snacks, merchandise, and construction updates throughout the parks almost every time we go!

To make sure that you’re prepared for your next trip, we bring you all the latest updates on the AllEars blog. Now, we’ve got a full list of what’s going to be closed in Disney World next week so that you’re not caught off guard by these changes! Check out the temporary closures in Disney World from October 9th through the 15th.

Magic Kingdom Closures

Walt Disney World Railroad

This fan-favorite attraction is still closed in Magic Kingdom, and Disney hasn’t given any updates about when it might return.

We’re hoping that it reopens soon, but it’s possible that it will be closed until construction is finished on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster. This coaster will open in the spring of 2023, so we may see the Railroad reopen around that time. We’ve heard some engine testing in the park, so it’s could be back even sooner!

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. is the gift shop at the end of the Space Mountain ride. It’s currently closed, and Disney has not announced a reopening date.

Guests are being directed to exit the attraction through a different door rather than through this shop.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

This character meet-and-greet attraction is still closed in Fantasyland. However, you can sometimes still meet Belle here, although the full attraction (where you help her tell the story of Beauty and the Beast) has not yet reopened.

Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could fully reopen.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

The characters are completely missing over at Pete’s Silly Sideshow, which used to be where you could meet Daisy, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in their circus performer outfits.

Disney has said that this spot will reopen “in the coming months.” They gave that update a few months ago, so we’re hoping to see this location reopen soon.

Meet Ariel at Her Grotto

And the last closed location at Magic Kingdom is another character spot — Ariel’s Grotto. Although you can’t meet the Little Mermaid here, you can still go on the nearby Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction.

Disney hasn’t said when Ariel’s Grotto will reopen.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures

Fantasmic!

We can’t wait to see Fantasmic! return to Hollywood Studios. Disney has said that it will be back sometime in 2022, but they haven’t given an exact return date yet. That means it should be returning soon!

Cast Member rehearsals are going on now, so the show could be back any day.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is a stage show in Hollywood Studios, but it’s been closed for a long time.

Unlike Fantasmic!, the Little Mermaid show doesn’t have a reopening date or timeline yet. Disney hasn’t given any updates on when or if this show will return.

EPCOT Closures

Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360

Canada Far & Wide is currently closed because the theater has been taken over by a Food & Wine Festival booth.

Right now, instead of a movie about Canada, you can find the Appleseed Orchard booth, which sells a variety of apple-flavored drinks along with an apple crumble tart. We’re expecting Far & Wide to return when the festival ends on November 19th.

The American Adventure Pavilion

The American Adventure Pavilion show is not currently running in EPCOT’s World Showcase.

Disney hasn’t given any updates on when this show might be returning. However, a Cast Member told us that the refurbishments were routine updates to the animatronics involved in the show.

Disney Water Park Refurbishments

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

You can’t visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park right now, but Typhoon Lagoon is still open!

Disney hasn’t announced yet when Blizzard Beach will reopen.
