Crowds and Wait Times INCREASING Over the Holiday Weekend in Disney World

It’s Labor Day weekend, and usually, three-day holiday weekends mean BIG crowds in Disney World.

Yesterday, we really didn’t see much in the way of crowds — we were pretty surprised at how quiet the parks felt. Today, though, we noticed more people were in the parks, and it seems like maybe the Labor Day weekend crowds are starting to arrive.

Let’s take a look at each park and see what they look like. We will preface this by saying that these crowds are still NOWHERE near what we might have expected this weekend!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In Animal Kingdom, we noticed more people were heading into the park than we’d seen throughout most of the week.

The park certainly felt busier than it did yesterday!

Ride lines seemed longer, too. When we checked, Flight of Passage had a 70-minute wait time, while Expedition Everest only had a 25-minute wait. Honestly, that’s still pretty low considering it’s a holiday weekend.

There were still places in the park where it didn’t feel very crowded at all.

Look at all of that open space!

EPCOT

EPCOT still seemed pretty quiet when we arrived there today.

Not so many people

We saw more crowds hanging around the pavilions, like France, where we often see crowds gathered. However, it still isn’t as bad as it was during the busy summer travel season.

Overall, navigating around the World Showcase still felt pretty easy today.

Some pavilions, like the Canada Pavilion, had very few people wandering around.

A good place to get away from the crowds

However, inside the Mexico Pavilion, there was still a pretty long line for La Cava del Tequila.

Magic Kingdom

We arrived in Magic Kingdom and didn’t have to stand in a long line to get inside.

Although we still noticed that there were more people in the parks than earlier in the week, even Main Street, U.S.A. didn’t feel THAT crowded.

When we took the PeopleMover, we noticed that Tomorrowland had more people than earlier this week, too. Still, though, we’d consider this a light crowd.

There were also some lines for food, like at the popcorn carts.

Wait times for rides are up a little, too, but not as bad as we’ve seen when the parks are much more crowded. It was only a 30-minute wait for “it’s a small world”, while Jungle Cruise had a 50-minute wait.

Meanwhile, Haunted Mansion had a 45-minute wait.

Overall, there are more people in the parks today, but we’ll have to see what the crowds look like tomorrow on Labor Day. We’ll be reporting back on that, so be sure to keep following along. It still seems like this is the perfect time of year to visit Disney World if you hate crowds, though!

If you’re worried about long lines during your next trip, you might want to consider purchasing Disney Genie+ and the Individual Lightning Lane attraction option (pay-per-ride) for the rides that offer it. Both will allow you to skip the standby lines and hop in the faster Lightning Lane for attractions.
