NEWS: Buffet Service Returning to Tusker House in Disney World

If you’ve been to Disney World restaurants in the past two years, you might be a little confused.

Tusker House

Things changed a LOT due to the pandemic, with lowered capacities, family-style menus in place of buffets, and the removal, then return, of character dining. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of which restaurants are “back to normal” in the parks and resorts, but soon, we’ll be able to add another spot to that list.

Tusker House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers a character meal with Donald Duck and friends for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant reopened in June 2021 and brought characters back, but the experience was slightly altered — they were offering a family-style menu instead of the buffet.

Hey, Mickey!

But now, Disney has announced that the buffet will return on November 1st! Family-style service will remain through October 31st, so if you’re interested in that experience, make your reservations before Halloween. The buffet menu hasn’t yet been released but will be available soon on the Disney World website.

House-Made Bread and Chutney for lunch/dinner

We’ll make sure to keep you updated with more details when the menu is released and the buffet returns. Reservations will open at the 60-day mark for the buffet experiences, which is just a few weeks away, so be prepared if you want to visit.

  1. I really enjoyed the family style service at Tusker House over a buffet. I was kind of hoping it wouldn’t go back.
