When you’re visiting Disney World, you might encounter some unexpected problems.

Weather can be unpredictable and can mess with the best-laid plans, and sometimes, entertainment options can be randomly canceled or rides can close temporarily. That’s exactly what happened today with one EPCOT staple!
When we stopped by EPCOT today, we noticed that Journey Into Imagination with Figment was showing up as unavailable on the My Disney Experience app…so we stopped by to check it out. When we arrived, the ride was indeed closed!

We spoke with a Cast Member at the attraction, who was not at liberty to discuss WHY it was closed but did inform us that the ride would be closed all day. The gift shop at the exit of the ride and the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival next door are all still open.

It’s not uncommon for random ride closures due to technical difficulties or maintenance issues, so make sure to download the My Disney Experience app to keep track of which rides are operating. That way you don’t walk across the park to visit your favorite attraction, only to find it closed due to inclement weather or something like that.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated if we learn any more details about this ride closure, and we’ll check back tomorrow to see if it has reopened. Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates!

I think if they refurbished this ride back to exactly what it was when Epcot first opened Disney world be amazed how popular it would become again. Bring back magic journeys 3 D movie again too. But I’m old, so very old …
There has been video posted on other sites where it appears that water was blowing out of the roof of the building, presumably from a burst pipe.
