Oscar Isaac Is ‘Open To Anything’ When It Comes to a ‘Star Wars’ Return

How has it been almost three years since the end of the Star Wars sequel trilogy? This was, after all, the trilogy that gave us some new iconic Star Wars characters, including Rey, former Stormtrooper Finn, and hotshot Rebel pilot Poe Dameron.

Many Star Wars fans would love to see some of these characters return for future projects, and at least one of the actors from the prequels is open to the idea.

According to Variety, Oscar Isaac recently said during a SiriusXM interview that he might be interested in returning to the Star Wars universe.  When asked about it, he said, “I don’t know. I’m open to anything. You never know.”

He went on to say, “I have no real feeling one way or another. I’m open to any good story. Time is the one thing that becomes challenging…as you get older and kids and all that. Where do [movies] fit in? If there was a great story and a great director and [Lucasfilm president] Kathy [Kennedy] came to me and was like, ‘I have this great idea,’ then I’m so open to it.”

This is a change from when he’d previously been asked the question shortly after the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker. At the time, he mentioned he was more interested in doing “character study” kind of work and even talked about how he was tired of acting in front of a green screen.

Isaac recently got his chance to do that kind of work for another Disney franchise by portraying the lead character in Marvel’s Moon Knight series on Disney+, which is about a man with dissociative identity disorder, who also just happens to have the spirit of an Egyptian god living inside him. Recently, Isaac seemingly confirmed a second season of the show.

Right now, Disney has not yet announced plans to bring Isaac back into the Star Wars universe, but with several movies and TV shows planned, it’s best to never say never.

Fortunately, there is plenty of new Star Wars content to enjoy. Not only did the Obi-Wan Kenobi series air this year, but the Rogue One prequel series, Andor, will premiere on Disney+ on September 21st.

Fans also have season 3 of The Mandalorian to look forward to, a new show called Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, an Ahsoka series, and more!
