Summer travel has been more stressful than ever this year.

We’re talking flight delay, after flight delay, after flight delay. There seems to be no end in sight, leaving summer travelers stuck in airports all over the United States. And this is especially true for those visiting Disney World, as Orlando International Airport is experiencing some of the worst delays this summer.
According to FlightAware data for CNN, there have been 30,000 flight cancelations since Memorial Day in the U.S. Staffing issues seem to be the main cause, leaving many airports unable to keep flights on schedule.

And, as far as summer delays go, Orlando International Airport made the list of the top 10 United States airports with the worst percentages of delayed flights. Orlando ranked second, with 33% of their flights delayed.

If you’re considering flying into another Florida airport to avoid this issue, think again. Both Miami and Fort Lauderdale also made the list, ranking sixth and eighth, respectively.

So, the main takeaway? Be prepared for flight delays when you’re flying into Disney World. Check out what to do if your flight to Disney World is canceled. And, check out the 4 cities American Airlines is dropping from service due to the staffing shortages.

Have you experienced any flight delays or cancelations this summer? Let us know in the comments.
Yes, we experienced a flight delay in June when we left Orlando and our flight left fairly early at 7:00 AM. We sat at the gate during this delay which lasted about 35 minutes. The flight attendant told us the delay was due to lack of air traffic controllers in Jacksonville. We nearly missed our connecting flight in Atlanta due to this delay.
