We don’t have to tell you that the past few years have been wild for the travel industry.

From closures back in 2020 to the slow recovery of both domestic and international tourism, many things have changed recently. And since then, airlines have had a pretty rough go of it with constantly changing policies and lots of flight cancellations. But after all of that, which airline comes out on top?
It’s official — AirlineRatings.com has released its ranking of the top 20 best airlines in 2022. Coming in at the top spot is Qatar Airways, which Airline Ratings says is being honored for its “innovation, product, and industry leadership as well as its commitment to keeping the world’s critical long-haul air routes open during COVID-19.” In addition to the top honor, Qatar Airways was awarded Best Business Class.

Air New Zealand came in second place, also securing the awards for Best Airline in the Pacific, Best Premium Economy, and Best Economy. Singapore Airlines won the categories for Best First Class and Best Lounges, while Virgin Australia won Best Cabin Crew and Emirates was awarded Best Inflight Entertainment.
