NEWS: Southwest Airlines is UPGRADING Their Planes Soon!

Flying to Disney World anytime soon?

Southwest Airlines

In honor of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, several airlines have special offerings like a Disney-themed lounge and even an entire airplane decked out for the celebrations. But, if you’re trying to decide which airline is best for your next vacation, you might be considering what perks are available to make your travels a bit easier — and, Southwest just revealed a new feature that’s coming to their planes soon!

Over on Southwest Airlines Twitter account, they recently shared an image of their seats with the caption “Something’s coming…?” and, if you take a closer look, you can see what it is! USB ports!

It looks like Southwest will be bringing USB ports to the seatbacks soon, which should make binging all those Disney+ shows mid-flight even easier (or whatever else keeps you busy while you fly)!

Officially the coolest plane ever.

Southwest shared that the seatbacks will have both a USB A and USB C outlet and other improvements will also include larger overhead bins, upgraded WiFi technology, and broadened inflight entertainment and refreshment options.

The USB ports are expected to be installed beginning in 2023 and other enhancements will begin as early as this summer. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more details, and, as always, stay tuned to AllEars for more of the latest Disney news and updates!

  1. I am happy that Southwest is adding USB ports, that’s great! However, I wish they would add more non-stop flights to Orlando from Islip airport on Long Island NY, especially in the afternoon or early evening. It shouldn’t take 5, 6 or even 8 hours to get home from Orlando which is usually a 3 hour trip!
