PHOTOS & VIDEO: TRON Ride Vehicle Testing Enters a New Phase in Disney World

It looks like the TRON ride is one step closer to making its debut in Magic Kingdom!

We can’t wait for TRON to take off!

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction of TRON Lightcycle Run in Tomorrowland. Some exciting progress has been made recently, including testing of the ride vehicles, and we even got an inside look at the attraction. Now it looks like the ride has taken another big step forward!

While we have previously seen a limited number of TRON ride vehicles being tested, it was mainly the “push/pull” level of testing. This is when parts of the vehicle trains are moved slowly on the track.

The testing how now entered a new phase where vehicles are being tested at higher speeds using full trains of Lightcycles! When we hopped onto the PeopleMover today to get a better look, we saw these trains zooming along the track!

There it goes!

According to Disney, the high-speed launch system will start testing at incremental speeds until it gets tested at its very fastest speed.  The ride vehicles will continue to be tested without weight until they reach full speed.

So exciting!

After that, weights will be added to the ride vehicles for testing, followed by actual people!

Disney has not yet released an opening timeline for the Tron ride, but this testing means that the attraction is one step closer to opening!

We’ll continue to keep a close eye on TRON as the testing process continues, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates!
