PHOTOS & VIDEO: Ant-Man’s New Prop is a Preserved Piece of Disney History!

Avengers Campus has been around for almost an entire year now, but some of us still fondly remember the area’s humble beginnings as “a bug’s land.”

The land was designed with younger guests in mind and was filled with a variety of whimsical attractions, but it ultimately closed in 2018 to make way for Avengers Campus. But, memories of the land may not be gone forever!

In Disney California Adventure, the Avengers are real — and you never know when (or who) you’re going to spot. Usually, we’re on the hunt for new characters or costumes based on the current Disney+ series, but today we spotted Ant-Man with something that queues up a bit more nostalgia!

Yes, that IS a mini version of “a bugs land!” Instead of letting the land live only in our memory, Ant-Man used his Pym Particles to shrink it down instead and placed in a dome for preservation (or at least that’s the idea).

In the dome, you can still see Flik’s Flyers, Francis’ Ladybug Boogie, Tuck ‘n’ Roll’s Drive ’em Buggies, and Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train running!

Look at all the rides!

Disney tends to add in some hidden details to attractions when they are re-themed to remind us of what once was, so it’s exciting to see that they’ve done this over in Avengers Campus too!

  1. When we took our kids to California, we went through the Bug’s Life land. The kids enjoyed it. Avengers superhero campus would not have given them that much fun and enjoyment. We miss Ariel’s restaurant near what is now Pixar Pier.
