The EASIEST Disney Park Pass Reservations to Make in 2022

What’s one of the most controversial topics when you’re planning your Disney World vacation? (Well, besides Disney Genie+!)

Cinderella Castle

That’s right, Disney Park Passes! They help control capacity in the theme parks, but they can definitely be frustrating when the park that you want to visit isn’t available. And it got us thinking — what are the best days to visit each park so that you can easily snag those reservations? Well, we did the research and we have the answers

Let’s start things out at Magic Kingdom, where we’re going to recommend that you plan your visit for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday for the best chance of success. The park fills up on Saturday and Sunday because it’s a hot destination for those making short weekend trips, and it fills up on Fridays and Mondays because it’s a popular “last park of the trip” or “first park of the trip” choice for weeklong visitors.

Magic Kingdom is going to be incredibly difficult to get into on holidays, whether they’re big ones like Christmas and Thanksgiving, or more low-key like Presidents Day or Labor Day. In general, you’ll want to make your reservation for this park at least a month in advance, but ASAP is necessary if you’re traveling during a busy week.

Magic Kingdom

Moving over to EPCOT, you’ll find that this park is usually pretty easy to get into, thanks to its high capacity. It fills up most frequently on Fridays and Saturdays because of guests who want to enjoy dinner and a stroll around the World Showcase. In general, you can probably book it easily for Sunday-Thursday without much issue.

You may find the park to be busier or harder to get into when it’s the first or last weekend of a festival, or if there’s a runDisney race going on. If that’s not happening, you can sometimes find EPCOT availability one or two weeks in advance of your visit during the off-season. When it’s busier, you’ll want to book more than a month in advance.

EPCOT

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Park Pass reservations are pretty difficult to snag. They fill up quickly for weekend dates, any holidays, and any week when students are out of school. If you want to visit here, you’ll want to aim for Tuesday-Thursday, just like Magic Kingdom.

Hollywood Studios

At Hollywood Studios, it’s also important that you try to visit on those days to avoid crowds. The park is small as far as landmass goes, and heavy crowds will affect your ability to get around, get the Genie+ reservations you want, and will drive up the wait times. We generally recommend making your DHS reservations multiple months in advance, or ASAP during the busy season.

Spring Break Crowds at Hollywood Studios

And last but not least, let’s chat about Animal Kingdom! Here, crowds are typically spread evenly throughout the week, although the reservations are just a little bit harder to get than at EPCOT. While weekend dates will fill up first, this is typically the park where it’s easiest to score a weekend reservation.

Animal Kingdom

Most of the time, you’ll want to book Animal Kingdom at least two weeks in advance of your visit. But like the others, book further out if you’re coming during a holiday season or a time when students are out of school.

Expedition Everest

So basically, if you can visit the theme parks on weekdays, you’ll have a better chance of getting the Disney Park Pass reservations that you want. We typically recommend booking them as soon as you can, just in case. It’s better to have to change your Park Pass later on than to arrive at Disney World and not have any!
