PHOTOS: First Look Inside Connections Cafe in EPCOT

Today we got to check out a brand new option for dining in Disney World!

Connections Cafe!

We’ve been excited about Connections Cafe & Eatery since it was first announced as part of EPCOT’s massive transformation, and we’ve been following the construction of the cafe and recently even got a look at its full menu. We knew that its opening timeline was spring,  and now spring has arrived and we got to take a look at Connections Cafe today!

We’re here with a first look at the soft opening of Connections Cafe and Eatery! When you walk in, you immediately see the Starbucks counter, which is the cafe part of Connections Cafe.

Let’s go inside!

Experience walking into Connections Cafe with us in our video below!

The Starbucks area looks like a pretty typical Starbucks with the beautiful details of Connections Cafe, with drinks, coffee, and bakery items for sale.

The Starbucks bakery had many of the same items you’d find in your local Starbucks, plus the addition of the Connections Cafe dessert, the Liege Waffle.

Near the Starbucks counter is also a display of coffee pots from all over the world!

Take a look at them in our video below.

The restaurant is organized into two areas: the cafe side, and the dining room side. The cafe side mainly had black tables and chairs…

…while the dining room side had white tables.

Lots of seating

The dining area was closed to guests today, but we were told by a Cast Member that they are currently planning to open both sides of the restaurant on April 27th, although nothing is guaranteed at this point.

The show kitchen is located to the right of the Starbucks counter, and when it opens guests will be able to watch chefs preparing meals.

There are TONS of colorful details in the cafe, like this huge mural you can see in our video below.

Just look at all those colors!

Gorgeous!!

You might want to stroll around the cafe with your coffee in order to catch all the beautiful mural details.

So many details

The cafe is filled with tons of natural light (and a great view of Spaceship Earth!), and there’s seating both downstairs and upstairs.

Upstairs and downstairs

There are also some really unique seating options around the cafe, like this setup here.

Interesting seating!

As a bonus, we noticed plugs and USB ports available in several seating areas around the cafe! This might be the new best spot to get some A/C and charge your phone in EPCOT.

Plugs!

Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying out some of the cafe’s offerings, so we decided to try the Liege Waffle today, which is made with brioche dough with pearl sugar, strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce for $5.29.

So if you’re looking for a quick-service option for meals at EPCOT, you might want to plan on visiting EPCOT on Wednesday, April 27th, but keep in mind that Disney has not yet confirmed an official opening date. We’ll let you  know about everything else happening at Disney World, too, so stay tuned for more!

  1. eww I feel bad forthe chefs in the fish bowl/ aside from the floor everything including the mural is boring. no magic, bland character

  2. It looks like a big food court. And it is a big food court which will obviously include interminable waits in line, unless guests can us mobile order.

  3. We just made Liege Waffles on Easter night. Followed the recipe from abountifulkitchen. Worked out great using a regular waffle iron and raw sugar (turbinado). Highly recommend so you can have these sooner than your next trip, which is always too far away.
