PHOTOS & VIDEO: About Those Severe Thunderstorms in Disney World…They’re Here

When it comes to the weather, we’ve pretty much seen it all in Disney World be it flash floods, heavy rain, or even hurricanes — after all, Florida weather can be pretty unpredictable!

Doomsday at Magic Kingdom

Earlier today, we shared that a Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Orange County and Osceola County, Florida (which is where Disney World is located), and now we’re starting to see some of that severe weather.

When we first arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this afternoon, it certainly was gloomy, but all of us Disney-goers were staying dry. But, that didn’t last too long… .

With the sound of thunderstorms approaching, we headed to take cover and it’s a good thing that we did — by 3PM, the weather front had moved in and the rain was coming down pretty hard!

There were a few guests brave enough to take on the rain while it was more severe, but things quickly lightened up making it so that a poncho or umbrella was enough to keep the park day going.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 7PM today (April 2nd), so be sure to pack you rain gear and follow instructions of Cast Members as the weather moves through.
