VIDEO: Disney Teases the Return of Traditional Character Meet-and-Greets

While you can currently meet characters like Mickey, Minnie, the Princesses, and more in the parks, the experience is different than you might be used to!

Instead of the traditional meet-and-greets Disney fans know and love (where you can hug the characters and take pictures up close), meet-and-greets in Disney World and Disneyland have been distanced since their return, meaning no hugs, no autographs, and no true up-close photos (except for on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser).

However, earlier this month, Disney’s Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Christine McCarthy shared that traditional character meet-and-greets would soon be returning. In a Q&A session at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, McCarthy said, “The other thing that has not yet come back but should be coming back soon is character meet and greets.”

And today, Disney further teased the news with a video on the Disney Parks TikTok. With hashtags including Disneyland, Disney World, Aulani, and Disney Cruise Line, we think we may be in for the return of meet-and-greets in a lot of places!

The first comment on the TikTok video shares that fans can check back on the Disney Parks Blog tomorrow for further details, so we expect a return date for may be forthcoming!
