PHOTOS: We’re Another Step Closer To The Return Of The Walt Disney World Railroad!

There’s a lot to look forward to in the Magic Kingdom right now!

The new Tomorrowland coaster, TRON: Lightcycle Run, is currently being tested, and testing is just beginning for the Walt Disney World Railroad. And, while the two attractions offer up completely different experiences, they have one thing in common — they both converge in Tomorrowland.  In fact, the new roller coaster is part of the reason that the train has been closed for SO long. But, it looks like we’re one step closer to finally being able to take a relaxing loop around Magic Kingdom once again!

Today we were strolling around Magic Kingdom and noticed that we could see something NEW peeking out from the construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run — a tunnel!

This will actually be the tunnel that the Walt Disney World Railroad will travel under on its passage through Tomorrowland! We had previously seen the train tracks being constructed, so it looks like this tunnel will provide some protection to those traveling through — though this also means that you won’t be able to look up and get a behind-the-scenes look at the ride while you’re on the train.

While the tunnel looks pretty noticeable from up close (we were standing in line at The Barnstormer), from afar you can’t see it at all! So, the Railroad and the Coaster should fit together pretty seamlessly once both attractions are up and running.
