To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
Around the world, each Disney park is responding and adapting to its own unique circumstances, though Disney guests from all over the world are all experiencing changes due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Hong Kong Disneyland remains closed through mid-April, and Aulani just updated its COVID-related travel requirements.

Over in Shanghai Disney, the health and safety guidelines were recently updated to try and prevent the spread of COVID. As the situation in China progresses, we noticed some changes to the Shanghai Disney website. Let’s take a look.
Starting March 21st, 2022, Shanghai Disneyland has no operating hours listed on the Shanghai Disney website. Currently, Disney has not posted any official statement on its website indicating an extended closure, but we’ll keep our eyes out for updates.

It seems like all park hours going forward have been completely removed from the Disney website, and tickets are unavailable for purchase between March 21st and March 22nd.

While the Shanghai Disney website does not currently mention any upcoming closures, we’re starting to see news reports that “Shanghai Disney Resort will temporarily close until further notice,” according to U.S. News.

UPDATE: Disney posted the following announcement on the Shanghai Disney website:
“Due to the current pandemic situation, Shanghai Disney Resort, including Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and Wishing Star Park will be temporarily closed from Monday, March 21st, 2022. We will continue to monitor the pandemic situation and consult local authorities, and will notify guests as soon as we have a confirmed date to resume operations.”

The announcement also includes information about ticket refunds and exchanges, explaining that guests with tickets to visit Shanghai Disneyland on March 21st, 2022 (and beyond) “may choose to visit the park on any other day within the next six months from the validity date of the ticket” after the park reopens. Refunds are being offered as well. For a full description of refund and exchange information, visit the Shanghai Disney website.
Additionally, beginning Sunday, March 27th, 2022, Shanghai Disney will require that all guests entering the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel or the Toy Story Hotel present proof of a negative Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) that was taken within the previous 48 hours.
In the meantime, stay tuned for more Disney news and reviews!
