With so much to do and see around the Disney parks, it can be easy to get lost in all of the excitement.

There’s the hustle and bustle of the guests, the incredible engineering feats of the attractions, and of course, the amazing theming that immerses you in a whole new world. But, those park elements didn’t just pop up overnight. There are so many minds and hands behind making a Disney park a worthwhile place to visit — and one of those minds just got honored in a big way!
Legendary Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde is known for his incredible artistry and talent that helped bring Animal Kingdom to life.

He is well known for being vocal about his support of wildlife conservation, which is one of the elements of the Disney Conservation Fund. Because of his animal welfare advocacy, Rohde has been awarded a Conservation Legacy Award — one of the first of its kind — from the Disney Conservation Fund.

Rohde accepted this award by congratulating other award winners including Kim Sams, who also works on the Disney Conservation Fund.

In addition to supporting Animal Kingdom, the Disney Conservation Fund has also worked with over 1,000 animal species in 120 countries. The award was announced by Disney Imagineering last week.

Over here at AllEars, we want to wish congratulations to Joe Rohde and the other Conservation Legacy Award recipients. Be sure to stay tuned for more Disney news.

Which Disney Imagineer do you think should receive an award? Let us know in the comments!
Disney owes so much of it’s current success to Rohde. He is one of the last real Imagineers. Pay careful attention to anything Disney builds from now forward. I doubt we will ever see the commitment to natural details that this man and many of those before him added to the parks. I’m afraid we can expect more bricks and concrete from now on. Congrats Joe and THANK YOU for your contributions to WDW and other Disney parks.
Amazing Man, love Animal Kingdom and always donate to the animal conservation when we visit the park.
