It’s officially the spring in Disney World, which means that we’re another month closer to experiencing new attractions and restaurants in the parks. But, Disney isn’t only hard at work on all the new things coming in 2022 — there are also a lot of refurbishments going on.

And, if you’re planning on visiting the parks or resorts in March, there are a few projects that might impact your trip. So, to help you prepare, let’s take a look at everything that will be CLOSED in Disney World from March 7th to March 13th, 2022.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for well over 2 years in Magic Kingdom as Disney works to bring TRON: Lightcycle Run to Tomorrowland. Construction is currently blocking a portion of the train tracks, meaning that the railroad will be closed once again this week.

Disney has not yet shared an opening date for the new roller coaster or the Walt Disney Railroad, so it may still be some time before you can make your way around the park on the train.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Refurbishments
Expedition Everest
Another long-term closure will continue into this week at Disney’s Animal Kingdom too. Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain closed in early January for a 3-month refurbishment, but it won’t be too much longer until guests can visit disco yeti once again.

According to Disney’s website, the attraction will reopen in mid-April 2022, though no official date has been announced.

EPCOT Refurbishments
Souk-Al-Magreb
Over in EPCOT, the store in the Morocco pavilion, Souk-Al-Magreb, will continue to be closed.

The store was showing hours in early February, but the closure has since been extended indefinitely. We’ll keep an eye out for updates!
Disney World Water Park Refurbishments
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
Looking to spend a day cooling off in the Disney World water parks? Well, you’ll have to head to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park because Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for refurbishment.

This is another refurbishment that we’re waiting for Disney to announce a reopening date, but be sure to stay tuned to AllEars to be the first to know!

Disney Resorts
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Last week, work began on the large DVC refurbishment project at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Currently, Building 9 (Big Pine Key), which is located next to the courtyard pool at the hotel, is offline as Disney converts the rooms to roughly 200 new Resort Studios that can accommodate up to five guests. During this time, guests may see and hear active construction during the day though most hotel amenities will remain available throughout the construction project.

Over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, the Grandstand Leisure Pool will be closed this week once again.

Work is expected to end in mid-March 2022 and guests can visit the other two pools (the High Rock Spring Pool and the Paddock Pool) in the meantime.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Pool closures are also impacting guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort this month! According to Disney’s website, the Flippin’ Fins Pool reopened in late February 2022, and now both the Schoolyard Splashground near the Big Blue Pool and the Cozy Cone Pool is closed for refurbishment.

The splashground is set to open in mid-March and the Cozy Cone Pool will reopen in mid-April 2022. In the meantime, guests can visit the Big Blue Pool and Flippin’ Fins Pool.

And, lastly, the Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is also closed this week for refurbishment.

The closure is expected to last through April 2022, but guests can still spend some time in the pool at the Uzima Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House in the meantime.
