We have seen more and more interactive experiences come to the Disney parks and resorts!
Disney is changing the way guests experience the parks and resorts in a big manner, bringing more active participation and immersive storytelling to the table. This new rush of innovation is being referred to as the “Theme Park Metaverse”. With such new areas of technology to discover and explore, it makes sense that Disney would want one person at the helm of this metaverse, and now we know who that person will be!
According to Reuters, Disney Chief Executive Bob Chapek sent an email to staff announcing the appointment of Mark White as the new Senior Vice President of Next Generation Storytelling and Consumer Experiences (that’s a lot to fit on a name tag)!
Mark White was previously an executive within the Media and Entertainment Distribution Group and has 25 years of technology and leadership experience.
The new Senior VP will have the task of creating “a process to prioritize how to allocate resources” for this new metaverse expansion. We will be keeping a close eye on this for any more news or updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars!
