VIDEO: An Unexpected Test Could Interrupt Your Next Disney World Hotel Stay

If you’re planning a Disney World vacation, you’ll likely be putting a lot of thought into where you want to stay.

Pop Century Resort

If you’re choosing to book a Disney World hotel, then there are quite a few things that you want to take into consideration like pool refurbishments and budget. But, there are some things that you might encounter during your stay that you simply can’t plan for!

Earlier today we stopped by Disney’s Pop Century Resort and were surprised to hear some fire alarms going off intermittently.

The alarms were going off in various buildings for a short period of time, and, upon further investigation, we learned that it was part of a scheduled fire alarm test that was taking place between 11:30AM to 2:30PM.

While some guests likely got a bit of a rude awakening when the alarms started going off, we did spot some signage in the lobby sharing that guests may hear loud ringing tones and that a Cast Member may visit the room to check that the fire alarm devices are working correctly.

Fire Alarm Testing Signage

Fire alarm testing like this is something that we’ve seen take place across multiple different Disney World hotels over the years. And, while these are necessary to make sure that everything is functioning properly in case of emergency, you’ll likely have some notice if it’s happening during your stay.

We’ve seen testing at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa too!

So, if you’ve got a relaxing day at the hotel planned, you may want to change your plans if the alarms will disrupt you. Just be sure to check the lobby or on the ground floor of your building each morning for any notices!
