There are a lot of different ways to get your fix of your favorite Disney shows.

You could sign up for Disney+, opt for The Disney Bundle (giving you access to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+), or, if you’re looking to watch the shows live, you’ll need to go through a cable provider or other live streaming service. And, if you’ve been watching Disney content through YouTube TV, we have an important update.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, YouTube TV is currently in negotiations with the Walt Disney Company over carriage fees to continue distributing its content. If a deal is not reached by 11:59PM on December 17th, all Disney-owned content will no longer be available on the live streaming platform.

Youtube TV released a statement on their blog sharing that “Our ask to Disney…is to treat YouTube TV like any other TV provider – by offering us the same rates that services of a similar size pay, across Disney’s channels for as long as we carry them.” And, if the companies are unable to come to an agreement, Youtube TV will decrease the monthly price for subscribers from $64.99 to $49.99 (until the Disney content returns).

The negotiations currently impact about 25 channels, plus 17 live networks and 8 ABC local stations including:
- Local ABC channels
- ABC News Live
- Disney Channel
- Disney Junior
- Disney XD
- Freeform
- FX
- FXX
- FXM
- National Geographic
- National Geographic Wild
- ESPN
- ESPN2
- ESPN3
- ESPNU
- ESPNEWS
- SEC Network
- ACC Network

So it’s Disney vs Google and the losers will be the consumers who were trying to save a bit by dropping bloated cable prices. I guess Disney will price itself out of the market so that the only service it appears on is Hulu (which it owns), it won’t be a monopoly thing as they will say that Google is choosing not to subscribe. YouTube TV is the better deal and instead of making Hulu competitive with it Disney is going to shut people out.
