Over the past year and a half, Disney World has rolled out a variety of new technologies to make visiting the parks and resorts as contactless as possible.
For example, Disney World hotels have been using direct-to-room and online check-in services and almost all Quick Service restaurants offer a mobile ordering option. Plus, even select stores have a mobile checkout process that lets you skip the long lines. And, now this feature has arrived at one of Disney World’s most popular shops in Magic Kingdom!
Today, we stopped into the Emporium on our way into the park and noticed that mobile checkout is now available! This means that you don’t have to spend time waiting in line to check out and can instead use the My Disney Experience app to purchase your items and continue your day at Magic Kingdom.
When you first enter the store, you’ll notice that there are signs all over reminding you that this is an option…
…and all you have to do when you’re ready to make your purchase is scan the QR code on the sign (which will pull up mobile checkout My Disney Experience app), scan the barcode on your items, and make your payment! You’ll then receive an exit QR code that you will need when you head to a designated mobile check-out exit in the store (just look for signs!).
Be sure you’ve got your confirmation QR code pulled up on your phone and show it to the Cast Members at the door. They’ll also offer you a bag for all your items here before you leave.
Right now the Emporium has five different mobile order exits making it even more convenient to use the new service.
