The global pandemic has continued to have an impact on the Disney theme parks.

The guidelines have changed for Disney World and Disneyland since they’ve reopened, international travel has started up again, and Disney employees are required to be vaccinated. The international Disney parks have different guidelines, but one park did have to shut down recently due to a suspected positive Covid-19 case.
Hong Kong Disneyland was closed down on November 17th as staff and visitors were made to undergo Covid testing after a recent visitor tested preliminary positive for the virus, according to CNN. It is November 18th in Hong Kong now, and the park has remained closed.

On Hong Kong Disneyland’s website, it says that “The government issued a compulsory testing notice requiring any persons who were present at the park at any time during the period from 11:00am to 6:00pm on Nov 14 (Sun) to undergo compulsory testing for COVID-19 on or before Nov 18 (Thu).”

It also says “In an abundance of caution, Hong Kong Disneyland Park will be closed on Nov 17 (Wed) to ensure relevant Cast Members can complete the test sooner. Guests who planned to visit the park on Nov 17 are advised to visit on another day.”

A similar instance happened last month, when entrance was suspended to Shanghai Disneyland and its Disneytown shopping district due to a single confirmed positive case of Covid-19. Upon leaving, guests had to undergo testing at the exit.

According to CNN, under Hong Kong’s current Covid containment measures, all guests entering restaurants, cinemas, and other venues have to check in using a local tracing app. People identified as close contacts of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 are required to be tested for the virus and may be sent to mandatory quarantine.

To visit Hong Kong Disneyland, guests are required to undergo temperature screening, wear face masks, and scare the “LeaveHomeSafe” QR code or register contact details as required by the regulations.

Hong Kong Disneyland does have normal hours listed for Friday, November 19th. Stay tuned to All Ears for more Disney news and updates.

With all of their rules and regs and zero covid policy, they might as well shut their gate for good. Doing what they’re doing is impossible.
