How Other Guests Can Totally Change Your Experience in Disney World

Disney World is a wonderful but complicated place and a lot of factors can affect your vacation.

Crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

You might have planned for unexpected changes and even the weather, but it can be difficult to plan for other guests! Let’s take a look at how other guests can affect your Disney World trip.

Here’s how other guests can totally change your Disney experience.

You might make new friends!

Let’s start with a positive one. You might make new friends! Disney World is full of people who love Disney as much as you do and you might end up chatting with someone while waiting in line or for a show to start.

Magic Kingdom

The parks can set the stage for you to meet people from all over the world. It might help your wait go by a little faster, and it can put a smile on your face!

They might affect your mood.

Sometimes, other guests might affect your mood. Many a Disney goer has found themself feeding off nearby energy which can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Tree of Life

For instance, you might find yourself singing along to a catchy tune with others nearby. People can sometimes be nicer in Disney World. We’ve certainly had lots of genuine interactions with other guests.

EPCOT

On the other hand, though, a negative guest might put you in a bad mood. We hate seeing guests have blowout fights with their families, be mean to others (especially Cast Members), or blatantly disregard the rules.

They might change your ride experience.

Some rides might be more affected by other guests than you might think. On Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, another guest’s piloting skills might be the difference in your score at the end!

Plus, it can be a real interruption for someone to talk during an iconic part of a Disney attraction. Plenty of guests have had to listen to someone loudly quoting the Haunted Mansion stretching room and loud talking in shows and rides can be an interruption at any point.

They might put a smile on your face!

Guests might also put a smile on your face! We love how everyone chimes in with congratulations when we’re wearing one of the celebratory Disney buttons.

Happily Ever After Fireworks

Plus, try not to smile when you see guests dressed up and having a ball or happen to walk past an engagement, baby reveal, or other fun celebration. And other guests can make Disney magic that much more magical! When Tinker Bell flies during Happily Ever After, half of the magic comes from the “Oohs” and “Aahs!”

You could have a better (or worse) experience when things go missing.

If you happen to lose something in Disney World, other guests can definitely change your experience. Sometimes, you might find that a kind guest took your belonging to lost and found for you to retrieve later — or a guest might take your belongings, never to be seen again.

Lost & Found

They might lend a helping hand!

And finally, other guests might lend a helping hand! We love spotting guests helping each other with complicated Disney processes (We’re looking at you, Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue). This can even be a little thing like letting us know our bag is unzipped.

Rise of the Resistance

A little kindness can go a long way in Disney World!

  1. We had an amusing experience years ago, when a bunch of drunken teenage boys from Europe were in line ahead of us and were making rude comments in German about other guests. I got to practice my college German by telling them that other people also understand German, even in Florida. They were quiet after that.
