BREAKING: Universal Studios Hollywood Will Require Face Masks Indoors

Yesterday, Los Angeles County health officials announced that starting this Saturday, July 17th at 11:59PM, face masks will be required in indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status.

Indoor public spaces county-wide would have likely included theme parks; however, there was no official update from Universal Studios Hollywood until today.

We spoke with a Team Member, Janette,  who confirmed that Universal Studios Hollywood will require that all guests and Team Members wear face masks in all indoors locations, regardless of vaccination status, beginning TOMORROW, July 17th. This puts the theme park slightly ahead of the county’s schedule, which officially goes into effect at 11:59PM tomorrow night.

Face masks will continue to be optional in outdoor locations, and we were told that guests may remove their face masks indoors once seated for dining. As of this writing, there doesn’t appear to be an exact timeline for how long this new policy will be in effect. Over the past week, there has been over 1,000 new COVID-19 each day in L.A. County.

We will keep a close eye on any additional news coming out of Los Angeles County has this new policy goes into effect this weekend. Currently, there are no plans to implement a similar mask mandate in Orange County, where Disneyland is located.
