Today, we’re learning about one of the biggest developments when it comes to getting authorization approved for this remaining age group.

NBC News has reported that emergency use authorization of COVID-19 vaccines could come sometime in early or mid-winter, according to an FDA official.

The newest face mask mandate only requires masks to be worn by all guests when on transportation, like buses, the Monorail, and the Skyliner.

Both Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech have been conducting trials of their vaccines on children under the age of 12 since March, and those results are expected to arrive this fall. From there, the companies will apply for emergency use authorization.

This news comes as regions and states across the country are taking more precautions against rising cases of COVID-19, especially with the delta variant becoming a more dominant strain of the virus.
