New Deal Will Bring Universal Films to Amazon Prime Video and Other Streaming Services!

In the age of streaming, studios and streaming platforms have been making a ton of deals for movie, television, and premiere rights. Many streaming platforms are creating their own film studios and many film studios are creating their own streaming platforms!

Recently, we caught word of another deal, this time between Amazon and Universal!

Recently, Variety reported that Amazon Prime Video, IMDb TV, and Universal have signed a new deal that will bring Universal’s upcoming films to Amazon Prime and IMDb TV following their premiere on Peacock!

Essentially, for the first four months after a movie’s premiere, it will be available on Peacock and then the movie will then be available on either Amazon Prime Video or IMDb TV after that four-month period.

Movies that will premiere on Peacock and then move over to Amazon Prime or IMDb include “Jurassic World: Dominion” and “Sing 2.” Amazon and IMDb will also be receiving streaming rights to a wide array of older Universal films such as “Love, Actually” and “Shrek 2.”
