Is it just us or has this summer been a whirlwind of Disney news and activity?

And we get it — it’s sometimes hard to keep up with everything that’s going on, so we’re going to break down the biggest Disney stories from this week to help you get caught up.
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Reopened
In case you missed it, another Disney World resort hotel reopened this week. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn was previously only open to Disney Vacation Club members, but now any Disney World guest can book a stay here!

We walked around on reopening day, and things pretty much look the same as always, but we expect we’ll be seeing more guests around here from now on.

Disneyland Reopenings AND Closings
We also got some news about some reopenings at Disneyland. First, the Matterhorn Bobsleds started running again today! Plus the Disneyland Hotel officially reopened today, too!

However, an iconic restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel has closed its doors permanently. We learned that Steakhouse 55 has closed for good.

Fireworks Return To Disney World
This might be the happiest news we’ve seen in months — fireworks have officially returned to Disney World. Both Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Forever at EPCOT put on their first nightly shows for guests on July 1st in over a year.

It was a momentous — and yes, emotional — moment for all of us.

Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Hours at Disney World
Disney World finally released more information about Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Hours. Early theme park entry will give hotel guests the ability to enter the four Disney World parks prior to park opening every day of the week.

Extended Theme Park Hours will give select resort guests extra time in the parks on select nights in select theme parks, Both perks will begin in early October.

Casey’s Corner Reopening
We’ve had so many reopenings lately that it’s hard to keep up. But one that we — and many of you, we suspect — are most excited about is Casey’s Corner. And it officially reopened this week.

This hot dog joint is a staple at Disney World, and we were overjoyed to be there on its reopening day.

In-Person Race Weekends Return to runDisney
This one is for you runners out there — for the past year, runDisney has been running (pun intended) virtual races due to the global health pandemic. However, in-person runDisney events will resume this fall at Disney World for the 2021-2022 weekend.

This includes the return of the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend — this year’s theme is “Wickedly Delicious” and is devoted to the villains. Registration begins soon, so be sure to check out the runDisney website for more information.
Here is EVERY runDisney Race Coming Back To Disney World
Like we said — what a week, right? But we hope this catches you up on some of the big Disney news you might have missed. And stay tuned because we’ll continue to cover everything Disney.
